High Frequency Skin Care – If you struggle with acne, enlarged pores, puffy or dark circles under the eyes, or fine wrinkles, high frequency treatment could be a solution for you. Even if you have sensitive skin that gets easily irritated this could be helpful. We did a little research for you and here’s what we found out.
What is High Frequency Skin Care?
High-frequency treatment is skincare based on a scientific approach claimed to have originated with Nikola Tesla. It uses two kinds of high-frequency electrodes – argon gas and neon gas. Argon gas is violet and great for acne and oily skin. Neon gas is red and for anti-aging treatment.
This treatment increases oxygen in the skin which helps collagen stimulation and elastin production, providing the skin with a firmer appearance and better texture. You probably know that oxygen has an antibacterial effect, which can assist your blood vessels in pushing away toxins while enriching the cells in your skin with nutrients. At the same time, it kills bacteria that could cause acne.
High-frequency facials are considered a safe and gentle approach to skin rejuvenation, quickly healing and restoring your skin.
Side Effects of High-Frequency Treatments
Some people may experience tingling, redness, or swelling after the procedure. If you have skin disease consult your dermatologist before using this treatment at home.
- Do not use a tool for more than three minutes in one area and 15-20 minutes for your whole face up to once a day;
- Do not use AHA or glycolic acid with high frequency;
- Avoid broken capillaries or spider veins;
- Do not recommend it for people with a pacemaker, a history of heart disease, or during pregnancy.
High Frequency Skin Care – How To Use It
If you are using it at home always clean the skin before treatment. Avoid using retinoids 5 to 7 days before.
Cut a small piece of gauze, and place it on your face. Insert the electrode into the wand, place it over the gauze, and turn it on. You will feel a slight tingling sensation, but it shouldn’t be painful. Move the want in a circular motion over every area for maximum 3 minutes. Once you’ve hit all the spots, your high-frequency facial is officially over, and you can finish by applying your moisturizer (for those who have oily skin) or serum.
We use this treatment as a special request before a professional makeup service as a part of preparing skin for makeup.
